Do you have a pair of old jeans that you need to taper in order to give you a better fit in the lower leg? Better yet, have you lost weight but do not want to get rid of those comfortable go to jeans you have been wearing?
I am going to go over a few steps in order to taper jeans in the lower leg. The best thing is, it's not that hard!
Step 1: Turn your jeans inside out so that you can make the necessary adjustments.
Step 2: You will want to start just under the knee and start drawing a line down to the bottom of the leg. Mark a straight line where you want the jeans taken in. *Make sure you leave enough room in the calf area as not to make them too tight.
Step 4: You will want to use straight pins to pinch the fabric where you have marked your line.
Step 3: Take the jeans off. Use a sewing machine to sew down the line you just marked. Take the pins out as you go.
Step 4: Trim the excess material off (the old seam). Leave 1/4 of an inch of material next to the new seam.
You have now completed the taper of your jeans! Enjoy your new fit!
